Going to Apimondia 2019 in Montreal and interested in learning more about BeeOMICs and marker assisted breeding. The BeeOMICS team submitted a large number of talks on our research. Come check them out! We will update this post with detailed info on who is presenting and when once the program is announced!
BeeOMICs co-lead Amro Zayed talked with CBC’s Quirks & Quarks about the value of genomics in breeding healthier honey bees.
A team composed of a large number of BeeOMICS researchers led by Dr. Amro Zayed mapped out parts of the honey bee genome that affect hygienic behaviour – a trait that allows honey bee colonies to resist the spread of pathogens and disease. Please see the official press release here from York University.
